AFSCME Florida Statement on Anti-Worker SB 256
Tallahassee – AFSCME Florida Council 79 President and International Vice President Vicki Hall released the following statement today on the introduction of anti-worker legislation, SB256:
“Once again, out-of-state special interest groups are trying to gut the freedoms and values of working Floridians. SB256 is an attack against public service workers simply because we are public service workers. And when public service workers lose our voice at work, we cannot advocate for the very services our tax dollars are meant to provide. Those of us who care for our sick, keep our communities clean, who are on the front lines of hurricane response, deserve the same rights as others to collectively speak up for a safe place to work, decent pay and fair benefits. Anything less is in opposition to what Floridians stand for.”
