AFSCME Florida Statement on Recertification Win at the City of Avon Park

Today, the dedicated public service workers of the City of Avon Park voted nearly 95% in favor of retaining their AFSCME contract and representation by AFSCME Local 3597.

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement:

“From big cities to small towns, public service workers across Florida are voting over and over and over again to recertify their AFSCME contract and the strength they find through a union with their coworkers. We are proud that the hardworking staff of Avon Park have done the same and look forward to working with them to building the strongest AFSCME local possible.”
