AFSCME Florida Statement on Recertification Win for City of DeFuniak Springs

The hardworking men and women of the City of DeFuniak Springs, represented by AFSCME Local 3918, are proud to announce they have voted to reform their union. Following voting this morning, 100% of workers who turned out voted in favor of AFSCME. 

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement: 

“We are proud of the strength and power that these dedicated workers showed in voting to reform their union after SB256 effectively silenced them. They have regained their right to speak up for the taxpayers they serve so they can continue providing the best services possible in a safe way and while earning fair compensation. We look forward in continuing to be a strong union for years to come.”
