Following two days of voting, the dedicated public service workers for the City of Naples voted more than 97% to recertify their independent and strong union voice through AFSCME Local 2017.

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement:

“This recertification election underscores why the anti-union billionaires and their political operations keep pushing their friends in Tallahassee to pass more bills – public service workers just won’t quit. We know the value of a union contract, the benefits and protections it affords and how it helps the citizens we serve. That is why Local 2017, like so many others, is just as strong today as it was when SB256 passed and will continue to be even with SB1296.”
