After the votes were counted today, the hardworking men and women of two more AFSCME locals voted overwhelmingly to recertify their unions. AFSCME Local 1718 in the City of Venice voted 98% in favor.

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement:

“Once again, the people who make our state a great place to live have made it clear they want a voice at the table. While so-called leaders in our state bend over backwards to find new ways to attack their rights on the job, the workers themselves are having a say. We hope that come the new year elected officials remember to stand with the workers who live in their districts instead of out-of-state special interests.”
