AFSCME Florida Statement on Recertification Win in Hallandale Beach

Today, the hardworking men and women in Hallandale Beach voted to recertify their voice on the job following a mail-ballot election. They voted 100% in favor of retaining their seat at the table to speak up for the needs of the citizens they serve.
AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement:
“We are well into another year of recertification elections, and one thing is clear – the more things change the more Florida dedicated public service workers value having a strong union voice on the job. We are proud to continue to work with and represent these workers who, no matter what their job is or where they do it, all make their communities safe, healthy and livable. It is unfortunate we continue to have to hold these elections to prove what we already know – our state is stronger when public service workers can share in the prosperity they help create.”
