City of Hialeah Overwhelming Vote to Recertify Their Union

Today in Hialeah, the members of AFSCME Local 161 voted 99% to recertify their union after two days of voting.  

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement: 

“The best way to fight back against the affordability crisis is a job with a union contract. The ability to have a seat at the table and a say in your future, not just having to accept the scraps that may be leftover, that is why we continue to see AFSCME members vote to recertify their locals in every corner of the state. We have been, are and will always be about putting working families first.”
