The hardworking men and women of AFSCME Local 3292 voted overwhelming to recertify their AFSCME union. Over two-days of voting, the Miami-Dade County Solid Waste employees voted 99% in favor of keeping their union.

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement:

“Some of the hardest working and most unsung heroes of our communities are those who keep our streets and homes clean and functional. That is why a strong union voice is so critical to ensuring they can do their jobs safely and in due compensation. We are proud that these Miami-Dade County workers have made it clear that they will continue to achieve that through their AFSCME union.”
